Longboat Key - Any Damage or Surge from Wilma?
The paper here in North Central Florida haven't printed a word about the Longboat Key area. My sister said damage to Key West was minimal even though they were right in the path, so I would assume LBK came through it with flying colors. Anyone know for sure?

Hi Postal, talking to a family member in another part of Florida they told me that LBK was in good shape (another family lives there) but I haven't talked to the family member in LBK so this is just second hand information but believe it is reliable.

I came home Monday to find Siesta Key in PERFECT condition.
Just in case you don't know, Siesta Key is a very short distance away from Longboat Key. We're about 2-3 miles south of Longboat. |
Sarasota here - you're in great shape.
The red tide is gone and the weather is wonderful! |
Am glad to have it confirmed LBK is in good shape and didn't have any damage etc. AA FrequentFlyer, I didn't know you live on Siesta Key. Lucky you! You and floridadventurist live in such a beautiful area. I sure hope that next years hurricane season is not like this years. What a nightmare.

The tide was so low immediately following the storm (wind from the northeast pushed the water out of that area) that the guy looking out for our boat in St Pete couldn't even get on it from the dock had he needed to. Once again, greater Tampa Bay lucked out!! Beach Music has weathered yet another season.

Thank you all for the reassurance! 16 days to our week on the water! I slave all year for this!
