Long Weekend for the wife and I
 

I want to take the wife to a resort/beach area in late May or June. We live in Long Island NY and we are flying to Aruba later in the summer with the kids, so I am looking for a 3 or 4 day weekend within driving distance ( I guess 5 hours tops).

We tend to like the resort/beach vacation a tad more than inns, beach houses, etc...however I am also much more unfamiliar with this type of vacation.

Any suggestions?

The problem is, w/your timeframe there may be some issues w/water temps if that is a concern, until you get down to the Carolinas, or at least Va.

Va may not be out of our range...but I am not to familiar with weekend getaways in Va...

Water temps are not to much of an issue however if we stay closer.

Closer to you is Cape May NJ which is a cute beach town.
