London Hotel or Michaelangelo?
Want a once in a lifetime trip for old lady, her daughters and grandaughters. Have tickets for RCMH
Hairspray and Phantom. How about shopping for the teenager? |
I have stayed at both. London is modern and sleek, Michaelangelo is more old world decor. Personally, I like the London a little more.
I have stayed at London's previous Rhiga Royal and Michelangelo. My mom adored the Michelangelo. I think for a lifetime trip for an old lady and fam, I'd go for Michelangelo. It has a great lobby.
good point gypielou, Michaelangelo does have a great lobby for visiting and late night espresso or dessert.
The London is all suites so I think it depends on how many there are and how many rooms they'll book. Old lady might prefer Michelangelo but daughters and granddaughters will flip over the London.
PS, shopping for the teenager depends somewhat on age of teen and budget. H & M (there's one in Rockefeller Center) is inexpensive chic. Abercrombie & Fitch is popular with younger teens. There's one on Fifth ave. & 56th st. and another at the South Street Seaport. Teen will also like Soho and perhaps some of the weekend markets. Edgeny.com might be fun.
We have two bedroom suite. Old lady just wants a place to sit after long day. Teen is a grown up 14 year old. With $300 of birthday money. What about Century 21 is it worth the hassel?
I don't feel Century 21 is worth the trip down there just for that. She will be able to find lots of bargains at the stores already mentioned; it seems like every store is having sales now.
