Logan Express

I have an international flight leaving Logan at 9:30 PM on a Weds. I will be coming from CT and plan to take Logan Express from Framingham. My airline Icelandair has conflicting info on their website saying getting there either 2 or 3 hours prior. I am going to plan on 3. So what time should I plan on getting to Framingham? I'm concerned about rush hour traffic... Thanks.

If you take the 6:00 bus you should arrive at Logan between 6:30 and 6:45. The drivers communicate about traffic and do a good job of finding the fastest route.

Plan to arrive at the Framingham station early enough to buy your ticket; if you are leaving your car and the nearby lot is full there will also be a few extra minutes (maybe 15 max) getting there from the overflow lot (shuttle).

Capxxx is right, although I think 30 minutes would be optimistic at that time of day. 45 minutes seems about right, and maybe it could take an hour if the traffic is very heavy.

If you want to be at Logan by 6:30, I'd take the 5:30 bus from Framingham. Driving towards Boston shouldn't have lots of rush hour traffic, but there is always traffic so allow for some cushion in getting to Framingham and the airport.

If you get to Logan early, you can have a leisurely bite to eat before your flight.

I would opt for CW's suggestion of an earlier bus. Did you figure the extra time if it's not terminal A?

I just came home friday night on an 11pm Logan Express to Woburn. At that time of night, the pickup area was clogged with private cars. The buses had to stop in the lane double-parking because they couldn't get to the curb. (Terminal B area) The bus driver had to get off to holler that he was going to Woburn and wait for me to drag my suitcase over. Maybe dropping off they wouldn't have that problem of traffic congestion. I was surprised nobody was telling the private cars to move on. There was one that was there almost a half hour waiting to pick someone up.

I would opt for the earlier bus as well. Even though most traffic is going the other way, and the drivers know what they are doing, there can be unexpected delays caused by who knows what. I remember taking that Framingham bus to Logan and chewing my nails because of a problem on the road. (I would always rather be early than last minute.)

i thought of this thread last night, as I was headed in to Boston at 5-5:30. The Logan Express bus was stuck in traffic at the route 128 tolls right next to me. Marlboro-Boston at 5PM took me 1 hour 10 minutes. (Marlboro-Framingham is about 15 minutes, so 55 minutes from Framingham to Boston, most likely).
