Logan Airport Parkingq
Has anybody parked at Park, Shuttle & Fly in East Boston? I looked on their website and it's $99 for a week. I also received a coupon in the mail and it says customers vehicles are never parked off their premises.
Thanks! |
We used it years ago. Shuttle from lot to airport worked fine, but for shuttle back to car we waited longer than we wanted (no memory of how long - but certainly less than an hour).
Only issue we have had in past with such lots is in the winter - if it snows you face the prospect of digging your car out of an iceberg when you return - not just a snowbank, since this close to coast it often rains/sleets ins tead of snow. While the main lot is plowed, they certainly can't dig out each car. |
digging your car out of an iceberg when you return
So funny but so true! :D |
By the way, the reason we rarely use it has nothing to do with lot. For several years I worked in Chelsea and could leave my car there for free and take cab to airport. Husband travels all the time for business but parks at airport - clients pay, so who cares.
For short weekend trips we pay for convenience and leave car at airport. For longer trips we get alternate means to airport and are carless. |
hockeymom - where will you be coming from? I hate paying $$$ for parking at/near Logan, so in the past year, we have parked at the MBTA garages and took the T to Logan.
The Woodland garage on Green Line D charges $4 a day; and the Alewife garage on Red Line charges $5 a day. The savings add up quickly if you park for a week or more. |
I hand't thought of taking the T. I will explore that option. The snow/ice thing did cross my mind. You can't live in Massachusetts without thinking about that!
Thanks for the replies. |
Wherever you park, write it down and put it in your wallet. It never looks the same when you return and start looking for your car.
We parked in Central Parking at Logan once. Ten days later when we got back, we had no idea where our car was parked. It was like the vacation just zapped our memory. We found it after some time, but lesson learned - write it all down! |
You might also want to consider the Thrifty lot. Their shuttle runs much more frequently, the parking is valet, and with the coupon on their website you can save 10% ($78.96 for a week). On returning, you hand your parking receipt to the shuttle driver, and your car is ready by the time you get to the lot.

I will look into Thrifty. Typically when we fly we either have someone drive us or we take a shuttle, but for four of us the shuttle is $225 before tip round trip so I just thought I would explore my options this time. We fly early on a Sunday morning. I'll be posting trip questions soon!
Thanks for the replies. |
Which shuttle? Are you familiar with Flightline (www.flightlineinc.com)? They have door to door rates, and have recently added park and ride service. Parking is free and rates are very reasonable for four people. But, depending on where you live, it's probably most economical to drive, park and shuttle.

How long will you be gone, when are you flying (both time of day and time of year), and which airline?
All will impact cost and logistics. As mentioned, with 4 of you, Alewife or one of the MBTA garages would save money (at the "cost" of inconvenience and time). If leaving early (6-7am), I would "eat the expense" and park at Logan. You have to look at convenience vs cost and how it impacts the overall experience. Also, as mentioned, sometimes the return is where you want to be able to roll out of airport right into car (and central garage at Logan is covered). Also what is the expense of hiring a cab or limo from your home and back? This is our preferred mechanism or travel. We are spending thousands on our vacation and an "extra" $100 or whatever is well worth it. |
Depending on where you live, Logan Express could be an option. They have 4 locations - Framingham, Braintree, Woburn and Peabody. Pkng is $66/wk and bus is $22 pp roundtrip. Bus drops you right at your terminal. Go to Massport.com and click on Logan, then "getting to Logan".
