Loews or O'Callaghan?

I am trying to plan a weekend in Annapolis and am having a tough time deciding between the Loews or the O'Callaghan hotel. Each seem to have benefits. Any information woould be appreciated.

I would say Loews. We stayed at O'Callaghan in July and hated it.

Loews is a very nice hotel, My family stay there all the time when visiting. The staff is super friendly & the location is decent, only 5 min walk to the state house.

Loews is closer to downtown Annaplis and is right in the better section of West St.

Can you give reasons why you hated O'Callahan's? also, does anyone who has stayed at Loews have suggestions for restaurants in walking distance. We're looking for a nice restaurant that has a separate party room for about 18 people.

You might try Ram's Head Tavern, which is near the circle on West Street. It's an excellent restaurant and entertainment venue, besides being a working brewery.
I've never stayed at either hotel, but a letter our office received from O'Callahan's soliciting business was poorly written and contained many grammatical and spelling errors. Someone is not paying attention to details, and details make all the difference, don't they?

I stayed at the O'Callaghan hotel, it was nice and less expensive than the Loew's. The location is 2 blocks north of the Loews, I think the Loew's is a nicer area. LHG why did you hate it?

This post is an old one! We stayed there in July 2004. I did not care for this hotel because I booked a king bed, and they didn't have one available. I booked a non-smoking, again, didn't have it. The remote control was broken. The window in the room was very small, and the staff in general was just not very professional. I will not stay there again. My husband is a Naval Academy grad. We have so many great memories of Annapolis. This was our anniversary weekend. I wanted it to be perfect (tall order, I know).

O'Callaghan is a former Holiday Inn and the walls are paper thin & the location could be better.

Loew's is very nice.
Never stayed at O'Callaghan.
I second the recommendation for Ram's Head
