I'm loving this discussion:)
DH and I are planning a trip to CA in 2013 for our 35th anniversary and plan on both SEKI and Yosemite. |
Glad to be of help

Think I already commented on this - but after SEKI and Yo - Muir Woods will be nice but not spectacular.

I would go to Point Reyes or Monterey after Yosemite and Sequoia. Muir is nice and more of a rain forest feel to it, but it is small, crowded, and the trees aren't anywhere like what you will see in the other spots you are visiting. I would skip it and spend more time at Sequoia and Yosemite. The hikes you could do at either of those are limitless.

Thanks for the correction on the right hotel name for a place just outside Yosemite in El Portal as Yosemite View Lodge! Apologies for the error. I stayed there in October and then in the actual in-Yosemite-Valley "Yosemite Lodge" a month or so ago and should have known better. |
Thank to all who helped plan this trip. However, due to things happening beyond my control we will not be going on this trip
Maybe next year |
New2CA Heartbreaking for you! I kept reading these posts hoping to find out how things actually went for you. I am sorry this did not work for you but all the knowledge and suggestions out there helped a lot of other people. I hope you were able to eventually go on this trip and are able to tell about it now.
