Lodging recommendations - Maui and Big Island
 

Hi, I am lost with all the options from packages to books out there about Hawaii! I am planning a trip with my g/f for about 8 nights (3 in Big Island and 5 in Maui) and could really use some help in finding good places to stay. <BR><BR>For Big Island, I would like to stay at or around Kona.<BR><BR>For Maui, anywhere on the west or south side is what I have heard to be good.<BR><BR>Am looking for basic cleaniness, may be a kitchenette, walking accessibility to the beach and a view would be nice too. =) But open to all suggestions. Don't want to spend more than a $100 per night. =D<BR><BR>Thanks!

On maui try the kaanapali shores it is near golf and the best overall beach is also near by. The hotel has kitchen and nice grounds. nick

Try looking at condos in Napili. I think you can find one that fits your price range and there are some beautiful beaches there.

this wasn't your question, but do you really think it is worth it to spend three days on the BI? Are you planning to see the Volcano. If so, you might consider staying in Hilo. Otherwise, I think 8 days on Maui would be just as fantastic.

I must concur with myname. Pick one island or the other and spend eight nights there.
