Lodging Question - Alaska
I was wondering if everyone could tell us where they stayed in Fairbanks, Valdez, and Seward. Let us know if you liked it or not and why.
Thanks, Molly |
Stayed in Seward at the Hotel Seward. Would not recommend - looked worn and is in need of some TLC. Just our honest opinions :)

We stayed at B&B's in both Valdez and Seward to save money. In Valdez it was Blueberry Mary's ($95) which I highly recommend. In Seward we stayed at The Farm ($100) which was fine, but nothing to write home about. We did not go to Fairbanks.

In Seward, stayed at the Hotel Edgewater. Somewhat pricey, but very nice and very new (I think it was built in 1999). Would certainly stay there again.

If you are looking at B&B, try Mrs Clocks B&B in Seward. Great breakfast and very congenial people, you won't be dissapointed. Type in Mrsclocksb&b.

The Harborview Inn in Seward has off-property duplexes that are right across the street from Resurrection Bay. The interior (and exterior) of these duplexes were very nice and we'd definatly stay there again.

There are many wonderful B&B's everywhere in Alaska. In Seward stay away from Ocean View B&B - it's a dump. :( But Morning Calm is nice, Creekside is great in Valdez, Minnie St in Fairbanks- plus many many more. :)

In Seward we stayed at the Edgewater. One of the nicest hotels in Seward, great views of the bay, steps away from SeaLife Center.
In Fairbanks stayed at Pike's Waterfront Lodge. Good location on the river, nicely decorated lobby, restaurants on premises. We were very pleased with both hotels. |
