Lodging near LAX

Does anyone have any suggestions for moderate priced lodging in the LAX area? The only requirements are that it is clean and has an airport shuttle. Thanks.

If you go to Kayak.com, you can specify a search for lodging:

1) any distance you want from any landmark in any U.S. city or airport
(just do a search for lodging near LAX, then specify a distance of a few miles)
2) within a price range of your choosing (unfortunately, we have no idea what you consider "moderate" pricing)
3) with the amenities you choose, such as airport shuttle
4) at a specific TripAdvisor rating (or any other rating service you prefer)

That way you'll get the price you want, with vacancies on the days you're asking about (which, of course, we have no idea about), with the amenities you want, and with scores of opinions instead of just a few.

And, of course, you'll get an answer a LOT faster than you'll get from posting here.

what is your actual budget? ("moderate" could mean anything.)

Priceline (the name-your-own-price Bidding function) is great for airport ares hotels . . .

Foghorn Harbor motel is nice because it's right at the marina, ocean just steps away yet just a few minutes from the airport. Courtyard Marriott and Hilton Garden Inn El Segundo always get good reviews. The old Hacienda Hotel and the two Travelodges usually have the lowest rates. There are a few locations to definitely stay away from so if you find something, I'd ask about it here before booking, or check reviews carefully.

Tracy, I don't think all those places have hotel shuttles, do they?

The Sheraton LAX is fine and it has a free shuttle.

Hacienda Hotel has an airport shuttle running every 15 minutes 24/7 and very good rates. We have stayed there often on trips in and out of LAX.

I know the Courtyard in El Segundo has a shuttle. But it does not run 24/7.

Without a definition of moderate I wouldn't go any further than the rec's given already, other than to add the El Segundo Embassy Suites, which does run their shuttle 24/7/

Both this one and the Hacienda are used by many of the airlines.

There are a lot of hotels all along W. Century blvd near the LAX. They all have shuttles and will get you there quickly, it's all they do. All you have to do is decide how much. :) Good luck.

I bid on Priceline for airport hotels whenever possible, as the deals are usually really good at airports. This summer, I got the LAX Sheraton Gateway for $81 and the LAX Westin for $85.

I highly second using Priceline for the LAX hotels. You can get the hotels that travelgirl2 got or similar 4* or 3 1/2* hotels for around those prices. Parking costs more, but, since you're asking about shuttles, I'm assuming you will have returned your car before getting to the hotel.

If you haven't used Priceline before, just come back and ask. You'll receive some good tips here. I started using Priceline because of the postings here on Fodors.
