Lodging in Northern California

I'll be in S.F. for one week and then travelling North to explore and enjoy with my husband and ten year old daughter. I'm looking for an Inn/hotel that welcomes children, preferably with pool, to use as base for three days while exploring wine valley up to Mendocino. Somewhere inbetween would be great. Would like something a bit unusual with charm, etc.... advice is welcome!

My husband & I spend four days in Northern California/Guernsville (the Russian River area) last August and it was SOOO great! One of the most fun AND relaxing breaks I have ever taken. Horseback riding, Redwood forests (beautiful hiking trails), amazing wineries (gorgeous towns!), beautiful coastline nearby, just amazing!!

We stayed at a very pleasant, beautiful B&B called The Santa Nella House in Guernsville. Their website is:

If interested, e-mail me and I could provide you with details on the horseback riding, B&B, routes to explore , etc...
