Lodging in Myrtle Beach SC
 

I plan on going to Myrtle Beach SC next summer. I have a guide, but I am so confused by the number of places that are listed. Can anyone recommend a hotel. I only need a small efficiency or a hotel room for 2 people. I would like an ocean front room on the beach. My number one preference is it has to be clean. Also, preferably on the North End. Thank you for any suggestions.

My Dad lives in Myrtle Beach and whenever I go I get an oceanfront room at one of the hotels in the northern section- 70th-80th Ave N area. I've stayed in several, and can't even recall the names, but if you use one of the map search engines, that would work. This whole area is quieter than some of the areas near the boardwalk and pier "downtown", and the residential area just south of there is very quiet with public beach access and parking every block. I usually go there to hang on the beach when I'm there-right around 48th Ave N.

The beaches in Myrtle Beach are fantastic. Soft sand you can walk out a ways on, no shells to step on, warm water, never seen a jellyfish. And all the tacky, touristy stuff people sometimes complain about is well away from the beach inland.

I forgot to mention, all the places I stayed at were clean, except they are right on the ocean so there is a bit of weathering effect in some rooms from the salt air. (people leave the balcony doors open at night to catch the breeze and listen to the waves-it's great).

Embassy suites,my son stayed there when he went with his friend and mom.He said it was really good.

If it was just two of us and we didn't have kids in school I would recommend Embassy Suites. The rates drop after school starts. Marriott is nicer and more spa like but the hotel rooms are just a room. With ES you get a great breakfast and happy hour. You will have a fridge and microwave.
We just got back from staying at one of the condos in Kingston Plantation. The area itself was great, but the condo had gotten worn. The website says that they are individually owned.

I just recently traveled to Myrtle Beach and I used a Vacation Rental company called, Booe Realty. They had a wide selection of places to stay as well as fantastic prices. The room was extremly clean and had a wonderful view (Oceanfront)!! There website is, www.booerealty.com
