LODGING IN MAUI, KAUII, OAHU
 

We are going to Hawaii for our honeymoon in Oct. 99 and looking for lodging. <BR>I'm interested in the Poipu Beach area in Kauii - deluxe accom. <BR>The Waikiki Beach area - again deluxe accom. <BR>and for our longest stay in Maui, would like a very nice CONDO in Kihei preferably on the ocean. Any suggestions??? THANKS!

On our honeymoon, we stayed at the Hyatt Regency Kauai and it was everything we wanted in a deluxe accomodation. You're right there on the ocean but they have the most wonderful pool which has three levels: a two level freshwater pool connected by waterslides, filled with waterfalls and lots of secluded nooks, crannies and small caves plus a saltwater lagoon with a small beach area. The hotel itself has a beautiful open air lobby looking out on the ocean and the grounds are impeccably landscaped. I'd highly recommend it!

Hi, <BR>Take my advise, we stayed in Kauaii for our honeymoon in 1980. Princeville on Kauaii is the ONLY side to stay. Travel agents tend to book the other side. Hanalei Bay or the Princeville Hotel depending upon what type of facility you are looking for. If interested, e-mail me. My husband and I have been there 6 times! It is quiet though, if not your style-don't go. Waikiki is a city with palm trees. <BR> <BR>

We prefer the north shore of Kauai as well. The Princeville is a spectacular property. Yes, it is quieter, but worth it. We also stayed at the Poipu on the south shore. Don't expect to use the beach down here, it was quite rough. The Hyatt was gorgeous though. You have not seen Kauai until you have seen the Princeville area. On Maui, well to be honest with you, the Kihei area is not very nice at all, just a commercial area, with KFC, etc. What about the Kea Lani or Wailea Elua Village instead? Or if you want to save some money look into the Palms at Wailea. On Waikiki, look into the Sheraton Moana Surfrider. Email ,e direct for any more questions. Annemarie
