lodging in Key West

My husband and I are going to drive from Ft Myers to Key West in February and are planning a one night stay. Can anyone recommend a clean, safe, inexpensive hotel/lodging near Old Town/Duvall Street? We don't plan to be at the hotel much, so ammenities other than mentioned above aren't a great concern. Thanks!

Inexpensive in Key West in February isn't going to be an option unless you go to priceline. February is peak season.

The Southernmost is resonable as is the El Patio.

We reserved a room at Key West Harbor Inn 1-800-608-6569 for $165.oo a night and for Feb that's good. It is 3 blocks to Mallory Square (sunset entertainment every night) and one block to Duval and near harbor. Breakfast and cocktail hour each day. queen bed, fridge and large pool. The Speakeasy Inn on Duval had a better price but 11 blocks from Mallory Square. Their phone is 1-800217 4884 Both places have a website.

I chose the Angelina Guest House for my stay in February. They have rooms from $79 up and have gotten very high reviews on TripAdvisor.com

If you are driving from Ft Myers and then driving back to the same area, you might want to consider taking the ferry from Ft Myers to Key West. Otherwise, it's a long ride. I think the name of the ferry is "Fastcat"
