Lodging in Estes Park area

We will be in the Estes Park area in mid-September 2019 for 4-5 nights to visit Rocky Mountain National Park. Any recommendations on nice, but not too expensive lodging in the area? We would like a facility with a kitchen so we can cook our meals. We don't need to be in town, remote is fine. Thanks!

There are many VRBO condos, cabins, etc. in town, and on both main roads (we like Wonderview Ave., a bit less crowded and easy access into the also-less-crowded Fall River Park entrance), at excellent prices. Don't wait too long, though, Sept. Is a popular time.

How many people and what do you consider "not too expensive"? How remote are you willing to go? Like sylvia said, there are tons of options so you'll have to narrow it down a bit.

Have a look at YMCA of the Rockies. www.ymcarockies.org. They have a variety of cabins and lodges of all sizes. We have stayed in a cabin for 9 wth plenty of room and kids love the place. Located outside of Estes but convenient for a number of activities.

We aren't certain of the number of people yet, anywhere from 2 to 6. Remote is absolutely fine, as long as it's not more than a 20 minute drive to get into the park. As far as not too expensive, less than $200/night per couple is a must, would prefer to be under $150/night/couple. Thanks!

Yes, check the YMCA. It's a few minutes from the eastern Park entrance. There is a small grocery store on the west side of Estes where you can get supplies if you don't want to go all the way to the big Safeway on the other side of town. In September the elk rut might be happening right on the YMCA compound grounds.

We always stay at Woodlands on Fall River. All condos have balconies that overlook the fall river. Just a few miles from town but far enough way from the traffic and congestion of downtown Estes Park. Full kitchen in each unit.
