Lodging in Cape Cod
 

I am deciding between Red Jacket and Green Harbor in Yarmouth. Any opinions on either would be appreciated. Thanks!

Of those two, I'd take Red Jacket...the beach there is nicer. It also has more of a vacation feel with other hotels and restaurants nearby....Green Harbor feels more residential if that matters to you...

Both are great stays. I prefer the Red Jacket for their total amenities.

Just throwing this out there... Chatham is cool too. Expensive, but worth it. A mix between local fishermen and upscale socialites. Local pizzeria and pub nearby offers small town appeal while the beach club offers the $10 cup of coffee. Light house, cottages, beaches and if timed right, a perfect town to ride a beach cruiser with one hand while holding an ice cream cone with the other. If nothing else, stop by and take a look. Could be a potential destination for the future!

Second the suggestion to look at Chatham. A lovely town with lots of great shops and restaurants. Not as busy an area as Yarmouth/Hyannis.

The Chatham Bars Inn is marvelous.

We stayed for one night at the Chatham Bars Inn at the end of September. We opted for a cottage as opposed to the main lodge. It's definitely not cheap... It's a 5 star facility. And so worth it. We went without children, but I plan on returning with my family in the future. www.chathambarsinn.com The town of Chatham itself is very quaint. You'll drive right through it to get to the hotel down near the water's edge. You'll know it as soon as you see it... You can't miss the white crushed sea shell parking lots and white picked fences. To the south you'll find a historic light house. To the north, you'll find a bay full of fishing boats. It's breathtaking! And quiet. Go here for relaxation and tranquility.

Another vote for Chatham Bars, but ONLY if you can stay in a cottage or one of the rooms away from the main lodge. The rooms in the main lodge are not nearly as nice as the others on the property.
