Littleton-Denver restaurant
Looking for an intimate, quiet, "couple-friendly" restaurant in the Littleton, CO area. Cuisine is wide open and budget is too -- this is a special night. I'd rather not go all the way into Denver proper. All suggestions are welcome and thanks!

The Manor House in Littleton seems to have gotten really good reviews. It is a 3 diamonds in AAA book; has good reviews in a number of places online. Google The Manor House Littleton and read them for yourself.
This is just from research, I've not eaten there. Hope this helps... Debi |
The Manor House is not really in the city. You'll have to drive a short way up into the foothills, but it's easy to find. I was drawing a blank until it was mentioned. It is a very, very nice place and I would recommend it. Highly!

The Manor House was sold and is no longer open as a restaurant. The best "imtimate" restaurant in Littleton is in the downtown area on Main Street called "Opus". My wife and I were there recently and the food is excellent. Also, the Melting Pot fondue restaurant is just west of Opus on Main Street and Santa Fe. Littleton is a very large area so if these are to far to travel let me know and I will see if there are other options.

The Manor House is remodeling and will re-open on either 10/ or 10/10. I just called them to get this info.
Not sure when you were planning on going. Hope this helps... Debi |
Two couple friendly restaurants I like in the Greenwood Village area are Pesce Fresco (Arapahoe & Quebec) and Venice (Orchard & Holly). I probably wouldn't call either intimate. Like Stevemac said, Littleton is large so these restaurants could be close or too far. I have also heard very good things about Opus. Since your budget is wide open it might be a good choice. Do a google search for their menu (I've seen it out there) and let us know where you decide to go. Have fun!

Is it "Venice" or Ventura Grill at Orchard and Holly. Nice restaurant.
|
There is a Venice and Ventura Grill at Orchard and Holly. There is also Ocotillo (same owners as Ventura Grill) in the same center - very good. I haven't been to Ventura Grill, but I would like to try it sometime.

Check out, http://www.downtownlittleton.com/faq.htm website for Historic Downtown Littleton. It is slightly east of Sante Fe and Bowles.
Opus gets great reveiws and I like the Melting Pot (even though it is a chain)for a charming fondue place. |
Another vote for Opus. It's a classy place with a soothing decor and great food; you can't go wrong here, especially for a special occasion.
|
The only problem with the Melting Pot, if it is still the same, is that you share your table with others. Yes?
|
No, you don't share your table with others at Melting Pot, just the people in your party. I have never heard of sharing your table with strangers at the Melting Pot.

Littleton runs from way west--the Ken Caryl Valley--to the I25 corridor . Which area specifically did you mean?
If Manor House reopens, I'd say go there--it is truly special. Opus is also very nice, as is Venice. So is Steakhouse 10 and Undici, though they are actually in Englewood--near Hampden and Broadway. Sue |
Wow, thanks for all the great suggestions! The trip to CO is next week and hopefully we'll have a chance to check out at least 2 of the restaurants.
