Little Italy San Diego Restaurant Help

Looking for a tasty place for Valentine's Day dinner in the Little Italy area of San Diego. We had such a dinner a few years back, but can't remember the name. Or, if not there, the Gaslamp area recs would be terrific as well. Italian or French recs, please. Not stuffy or the latest food fads, just cool, hip, and most importantly, a place that has food with flavor! TIA!

Its been a couple of years, but we had a very good dinner at Bencotto in Little Italy on Valentine's Day. We normally don't go out for this day, but we were in town visiting and it was very good.

Buon Appetito- Great food,

Bencotto- Great Food

I have eaten at both of these restaurants and they are both excellent but I personally would go to to Piacere Mio. Not in Little Italy. It’s in South Park has an ambience that is just what Valentines Day calls for and the food was amazing.

Piacere Mio sounds great . . . but we're coming in from LA on the train, and will be using public transport from the Gaslamp area, which is why I narrowed the area down as I did!

Thanks for the other recs -- they both sound terrific!

Ironside Fish and Oyster, in Little Italy. Excellent.
For Italian, Bencotto.
