Good Morning,
I will be visiting my husband this weekend and would like some insight on this area-Lincoln, CA.
I only will have Saturday and Sunday to explore. Any suggestions for day trips, sights to see or dining would be appreciated. Over the next few months I may have several weekend trips there.

Lincoln is a small town just outside of Sacramento. Not much going on in Lincoln. Do a search on Sacramento and you will receive tons of info.

Lincoln is just north of Roseville - there are many things to see/do on short visits.

You will be close to the northern bits of hwy 49 which runs along the Sierra foothills through all the Gold Rush towns/villages. You can visit Auburn, Nevada City and Coloma. Or for a longer drive you can take a drive on the southern end of hwy 49 through Placerville, the Amador Country wine region, Plymouth, Sutter Creek/Amador city.

In Sacramento, you can see Old Sacramento along the river, the State Capitol, the Crocker Museum.

Lots of good eating opportunities in both Roseville and Sacramento.

For a longer drive, you can get up to Lake Tahoe in less than 2 hours.

If you want to do some shopping - no need to go farther than north Roseville, a short drive down Hwy 65 from Lincoln. There is the Galleria (Nordstrom, Macy's and all the usual suspects). Across the street is the brand new Fountains w/ shops like Anthropologie etc. and Across the street from both is another shopping center w/ a Nordstrom Rack and other shops. A couple million square feet of shopping w/i about 15 minutes of Lincoln.

Lincoln? Must be visit the Del Web place.

Nothing to see or do in Lincoln, or Roseville, unless you like another very large mall with the same stores.

Go to Lake Tahoe. It will be beautiful.

If you are a golfer you will be surrounded by 10 golf courses. Lincoln is a pretty small town so I would look into Sacramento.

Have to mention that Lincoln is the home of Gladding McBean, a historic architectural pottery plant (they made a lot of the glazed terra cotta that you'll see around California such as the LA City Hall). I don't know that they are open for tours year round, but I remember Huell Howser's feature.

I recall they have a cute historic downtown mainstreet area, also.

I second a trip up to Lake Tahoe. It will be beautiful this weekend. Lincoln is handy to I-80, heading up to Truckee and the North Shore.

That now isn't worth half of what anyone paid for them.

I vote for heading North on Hwy 49 to Nevada City and above. Toward Downieville and further north, you will see a colorful show of leaves just as you would in New Hampshire and Vermont, etc.
