Limo Parking in NYC
I have purchased an antique limo and plan on taking my family in it for a day trip to New York. I am hoping someone will have parking advice for this car. We will not be using a driver, therefore will need to park it while we are doing the town!
Thanks for any quidance you may have |
Parking a regular car is expensive in NYC and a limo will add surcharges. Can you possibly not take it to NYC?
|
I did consider that, but wasn't quite sure of a viable alternative. We are coming from South Jersey (near Phila.)
Open to any ideas, but our first choice is really bringing it in the city. Cost isn't really a factor. Thanks again for any input. |
For a day trip you should seriously consider leaving it in NJ. Perhaps they'd take it at Port Imperial ferry in Weehawken. Then you could take the ferry over (fun, nice views). I know they have parking there.
Otherwise, you could try contacting a garage that's part of the icon group (iconparking.com) and see which would take you. |
I imagine most garages would take it, provided they have room on the day you are going. After all, they are used to taking huge SUVs and limos. What part of the city do you want to park in?
|
Wherever you park, offer to pay extra so your antique limo won't get dinged or scratched. And tip huge.

Near Saks Fifth Avenue Dept store is a hotel that I cannot remember the name of (sighing)
They will park any size car , plenty of limos and will keep your car in a safe spot. They will wash it for you too! Hopefully, someone has a better memory than I and will supply the name of the hotel? What kind and year is the Limo? |
The Waldorf=Astoria?
|
Thank you GoT :) I just asked the Yankee, his memory is better than mine also ..
The Waldorf ((F)) |
My advice would be not to drive into deep midtown but rather drive to a garage right off either the FDR or the West Side Highway and park it there, then walk/cab/bus to wherever you are going.
|
Drive to Trenton and take NJ Transit. Driving and parking in Manhattan is not worth the hassle.
|
You might want to call the Waldorf and check if they stil have this service. Many garages either charge a premium or will not take oversize vehicles (when you ay limo I assume you mean a stretch). Also - I would not trust them with a very valuable/unique car - since their tendency to cause nicks and scratches is famous.
If you do do this be sure to find a place in advance (Icon is good) that will acccept sucj a large vehicle and be sure it has the protective bra and panties for the bumpers. |
