Limo or Taxie from Newark Airport

Could someone tell me the best mode of transportation from Newark airport to NYC?
What should we expect to pay for transportation to a hotel up near the park?
Thanks again for your help.

Cab is probably the best and fastest depending on time of day. Arriving during ruch hour will take a long time. Near the park will be around $50 plus tolls (at least $7 for turnpike and tunnel) and tip. Not cheap.

Other options are the AirTrain (about $11.25) which gets you to Penn Station by taking the airport's monorail to a NJ Tranisit train into midtown. You would then have to take a cab or subway... also shuttle buses.

Do a Google search for Newark airport or NY Port Authority and you will find exact taxi rates and other transportaion info.

We like car services such as Carmel and Tel Aviv.

Remember that if there is more than one of you (maybe you and your spouse, for instance) that you'll have to pay double for the train to Penn Station. Ditto for the subway.

I think you should take a car or taxi, especially if you can cut the cost by sharing it. It's very difficult to travel on the trains or subways with luggage. And it's difficult to have to be lugging your bags around, trying to get directions for your hotel, then figuring out where you are...

Get off to a great start by investing in cab or car...

A taxi will take 30 minutes under optimum conditions and cost about $30. The Air Train, once you are on it AT the airport is $11.50 and takes 20 minutes to Penn Station in Manhattan with no traffic jams. One stop at Newark Penn Station. Don't get off.

Here's the website with info

The published rate is $50 plus tolls & tip. If you arrive in rush hour they add $5.

Tel Aviv ( posts a rate of $37 to Newark. Not sure if pick-up charge is more (possible waiting time)
