Limo from New Orleans Airport?

Is a limo a way to go with 6 people? Do we need to reserve or are they just out front like at other airports? Cost?

Just across from the baggage claim area, there is a "transportation center" where the rental car & hotel vans make their pickups. There is also a shuttle to downtown that, when I took it last October, was quick and reasonable. They have a ticket booth in the baggage claim area so you could compare prices to the car services before deciding.

Well I had read here somewhere that a cab is 28 bucks into the City. There will be 6 of us so 2 cabs is about 60 bucks. A shuttle that drops off other people is not an option. I was just wondering if the rates for a limo are reasonable as they are in other large cities? Like Vegas or FLL or NY?
It just seems like it might be easier?

I would think that you be the only passengers on the shuttle. We've only used once (the first trip we took to NO) and I don't remember it having any more than 6 passengers. It was just a standard sized van.
We use taxi service for the convenience of NOT stopping at all the other hotels first!

The airport is quite a long way from the city - like 20 mis I believe. If you are considering this, you should probably check on booking in advance so you know the cost.
