Lighthouse Lodge in Pacific Grove

My husband and I, as well as a couple of friends have booked at the Lighthouse Lodge for a weekend. Has anyone stayed there and if yes, how did you like it? Thanks!

Sorry I have never stayed there, but have driven past numerous times when staying on the Monterey Penninsula. It is very nice looking and in a good location overlooking the Pacific Grove golf course.

My husband and I stayed their in fall 97. Our room looked over the golf course. We saw deer in the morning and evening. While sitting in the hot tub, the monarchs flew all around. We had a large room with king bed and fireplace, very nice.

I live in PG. Have never stayed there, but it looks very nice. You may want to check www.pacificgrove.org for photos or information. Thanks for coming to PG....America's Last Hometown and a great little city!

I stayed there a couple of years ago and quite enjoyed it. Good size room with a fireplace, deer outside our patio. Very relaxing and good location. Also, they had a free barbecue every night which helped us save a little on meals. It was nothing elaborate (hamburgers, hot dogs, etc.) but it meant we could go to a fancier place for lunch. Don't know if they still have it. They also sometimes offer whale watching deals depending upon the time of year. I haven't stayed in the suites section (across the road from the lodge) but I heard it's quite nice and a little more upscale.

I had a different experience. The Lighthouse Lodge has a motor lodge section and then a Suites section down the street, the motor lodge section is the part we stayed in. The suites portion is really beautiful and the rooms are very nice. The motor lodge is not at all what I was expecting. The BBQ was modest hotdogs and hamburgers and the breakfast is buffet. Both meals are served in a room off the pool/spa area. We cancelled our second night. Would have cancelled our first night but we were too late.

Our stay was after a remodel during the summer of 2001. The rooms seemed dreary and dark and the doors, including the exterior one, were hollow. Sliding door to a patio area, or if upstairs a deck, where you either get a view of the golf course as stated above or of the parking lot. The tables and the armiore are that wood covered with the vinyl wood contact paper stuff made to look like wood but it's not. Couldn't wait to go home. Here's a link: http://www.lhls.com/lodge.htm

The rooms are exactly what they look like in this photo.
