Light in the Piazza- theatre NYC
Any reviews? Treating my sister & 17 y/o neice,
Thanks |
I saw this show when where it started--here in Seattle. From what I read it has been vastly improved with regard to sets and cast; however, I don't think there is any way to get around the fact that this is a very arty enterprise. It might be perfect from a 17-year-old woman, but then again it might not be.

My wife loved it, I thought it was just okay. I did think the cast was good and so was the set. We decided it was a "chick thing," so perhaps the three of you will enjoy it.

I read that audience members are being given CDs with two songs from the show. Why are they giving free CDs, one has to wonder.
The composer is Richard Roger's grandson--a Sondheim want-to-be. |
A little late for the original poster, but in case anyone else is interested...
I saw it on Broadway over the weekend. I didn't like it at all. The music was mediocre and the young star had a very shrill, annoying, singing voice. Also, if you're over 6 ft tall, you will be very uncomfortable with your knees pressed into the chair in front of you - it made airplane seats seems spacious! OTOH, my wife said she liked it. |
