LGA to Groton,Ct -Drive time

Any idea how long it will take on a Monday morning around 7 am from LGA to Groton, CT? There will be two people in the car if there are car pool lanes. Thank you

2-4 hours, depending on traffic. I-95 and the Merritt can be awful during the morning commute, especially if there is an accident. I can't think of any car pool lanes on I-95 in CT. The only advantage you have is that you are going in the "right" direction, if there is one on 95.

Sorry for the delay, thanks for the reply. We plan to be in Groton by 10 am. What time should we leave? 6 am?
Thanks again.

I think you would be safe allowing 2 1/2 hours. Under ideal circumstances you could probably make it in two.

I'd allow at at least 2 1/2 to play it safe.
There aren't any carpool lanes en route.

Mapquest.com (which I usually find optimistic) estimates the trip at 2 hrs. 18 minutes. I-95 is notoriously awful. If you are flying in from somewhere else the night before and this is a business appointment you're making, I would seriously consider driving part way the night before.

Thanks again for the replies. Will play it safe and leave around 7 am. Unfortunately we have to stay at that hotel on Long Island Sunday night.
