Lexington Hyatt
 

I am planning one staying at the Lexington Hyatt next week but have read that the hotel is a bit run down. Anyone know what the hotel is like? Any suggestion for a very nice dinner close to the hotel. I will not have a car. Thanks!

hi.i did stay there for 4 nights in august,,and yes its a bit run down,,but it was more than ok, the location is great.around the hotel there was several restaurants,but i have forgoten the names,but im sure that somebody from lexington will help you with that. the room that i was staying at was big,and so was the bath,and perhaps the most important thing is that it was clean, and they have a very helpful staff,they also have a free parking space across the hotel, and its for free, so i will have no problems staying there again. hope that this will help you a bit.enjoy kentucky great state..

thank you...that is a bit reasuring. i needed a downtown location since i will be without a car. any recommendations on "must see" things in Lexington? Thanks...Beth

The Hyatt isn't "downtown". It is in Midtown. As far as things to do, Lexington runs the length of Manhattan island. Many things and not just those on Lexington are a quick subway ride. Grand Central and Empire State Building are both very close.

my advice is,,rent a car,and go outside lexington to see the horse farms, they look amazing!!!.( i have to say its a must) i had a car so i was driveing around most of the the day to see the landscape, and the small towns, so did not see so much of lex during daytime, but it was fun to go out for a beer in the evening,and the people of kentucky are the most friendlist in all the us states i have been to. you should also see one of the bourbon destillerys, and i think that you can book a tour from the hotel.i think i was paying about 100 us pr.night incl tax, but that was via a travel agent here in norway.

Kentucky or New York?

Since there is no Hyatt on Lexington (or called Lexington) in NYC, I assume it is KY...

a la lucie on N. Limestone is a great place to eat. Probably best to take a cab, but could walk. DeShea's, across the street from Hyatt, is not bad.
