Lesbians and Straights to New Orleans for a long weekend together!
Hello,
We are going to New Orleans for a long weekend at the end of Oct (26th-29th). We have a group of 8, 2 lesbian couples and 2 straight couples. Any suggestions on fun places where we will all feel comfortable. Music and dancing, also restaurant suggestions where our group would feel comfortable--we aren't into spending $200 at NORAs....Thanks!

Hi, Kristi! I've spent a little time thinking about your question, and I must say that I can't think of anyplace you and your friends would feel uncomfortable in New Orleans. You shouldn't have any problem finding places to eat, unless you'll be there during one of October's huge conventions. Simply walking around the French Quarter should give you lots dining options. I'm too old for the dance stuff, so I hope someone else will fill you in on that. Good luck!

THAT'S Halloween weekend!!! You're going to have a BLAST! Make sure you go to the costume ball at Louis Armstrong Park....it's a fund raiser for one of our AIDS houses, Lazarus House. $50.00 per person, open bar, FABULOUS DJs, and THE MOST creative costumes you've EVER seen! YOU MUST be in costume (or Tux) to attend. This year's theme is Vamps & Voodoo....see you there!

I second Rob's suggestion about the Lazarus Ball. It's so much fun. It's some of the best people watching to be found in New Orleans. There will also be a lot going on in the "fruit loop" - check out Lafitte's, Bourbon Pub, and Good Friends for fun crowds.
