LePavillion or Omni Royal Hotel

Trying to plan our first trip to NO.
Torn between LePavillion or the Omni Royal Hotel.
Would love some info on both hotels, location, rooms (heard Omni rooms are very, very small), service, pool.. Good versus bad...
How is NO if we go during the week?
Thanks.....

Le Pavillon gets good reviews but the location isn't nearly as good as the Omni Royal Orleans. I'd choose the Omni on location alone. I've also heard that the rooms can be small but so can those at Le Pavillon, which was the first hotel I visited in New Orleans before I moved here!

(There's also an Omni Royal Crescent, which is totally different!)

Can you suggest another hotel? Windosr Court? Worth it?
Any feed back would be appreciated. Thanks,

Windsor Court is excellent but is pricey. If you can afford it, do it.

I hope I didn't dissuade you from Le Pavillon or the Omni. Both are nice and, as mentioned, Omni has a great middle-Quarter location! As for small rooms, welcome to New Orleans. Very few hotels here have what I call "large" rooms.

If you request a king room at the Omni, it will be of a more reasonable size. I believe the queen rooms are the really small ones. Also, ask for one with a balcony ... these are on the 2nd and 4th floors (I prefer ones on 2nd floor). The location of the Omni is great, and they have a nice roof-top pool with good views of the Quarter. Have fun in N.O.!

Small rooms or not, hands down the Omni Royal Orleans wins my vote for the best location in town. Yes, the rooms can be tiny (not unlike in Europe)but the hotel is beautiful and in the middle of the Quarter.

We stayed in one of the "very" small rooms. Was given the heads up on this board that the room was tiny. And it was. So being warned ahead of time was good. Despite its size the room was comfortable for the two of us. It was nicely decorated with somewhat atypical decor for hotels which was nice. The public areas of the hotel are very nice especially the rooftop pool with its views. And the location was so perfect. One block from Bourbon right on Royal. A few blocks to Jackson Sq. I would go back again.
