Leiden (near Amsterdam) or Montmartre (Paris)

Ok fellow Fodorites. We are down to the wire and have to decide on a home exchange tomorrow. Which would you recommend for a 3 week stay?!?
Thanks.

Paris, no contest.

I love the food, language, architecture and everything else!

I'm considering a home exchange based on your posting!!

This is Paris in August. Does that make a difference?

I wouldn't make a difference to me...

The only time I have visited Paris (so far) was in August and it was fantastic. It was also pretty darn hot but we didn't mind.

Since I'm guessing a home exchange would not include air conditioning, if the heat bothers you I'm pretty sure the netherlands would be the cooler choice.

Virginafish, you will fall in love with Paris. I didn't make it to Montmartre when we were there but Paris is just magical.

We were in Paris a few winters ago for 4 days and didn't make it there, either. We are very excited. Thanks for your good wishes.
