Lei Service in Hawaii

Anyone ever book to have a Lei arrival when you arrive on an island? I booked it for Oahu...was curious if anyone has done this before and what that experience was like?

8-)

We did it when we arrived in Maui on our honeymoon--it was thrown in as part of our package. It might have been a bit cheesey and embarassing, but we enjoyed it anyway. It's not really a big production, they have your name on a sign, and then they put a fresh flower lei around your neck. It was kind of fun and a nice way to arrive on my first time to Hawaii. Enjoy.

There are also Lei vending machines in the airports... I think for around $15 you can buy your own...

We did this when we went over (was part of the travel package, but we paid extra for it) and because our plane was delayed, we didn't get it. We were given leis at our hotel and if you want one, they're are several that can be purchased at the airport for less. I won't let my agent put this on my package next time personally.

I did it for my 5 yr old daughter and wife for our first "family" trip to Hawaii. They both loved it...a good way to welcome someone to Hawaii. Most teenage boys might think of it as a "Brokeback Mtn" sort of thing, so I'd probably skip on that and request a kukui nut necklace instead.
