Lee County FL alcohol sales
We are flying in to Ft.Meyers on Sunday and would like to buy necessary alcohol at Publix on our way to ferry to North Captiva. Are there Blue laws in Lee County? Hope not...I would hate to miss the boat!
|
I don't think Fla has any blue laws,,,alcohol-- anywhere at anytime,,,,now GA on Sunday is a differant matter ;-).
|
Actually, many places in Florida don't allow alcohol sales on Sundays until after noon. I can't remember if it's that way in Fort Myers.
|
I live in a pretty conservative part of Florida and we don't have blue laws any longer. But give Publix a call, just to be sure.
|
I live in Fort Lauderdale, we have no blue laws that I know about....used to live near Ft Myers.....bought(some, lots) wine on Sundays :-).
|
"Back in the day" you couldn't buy a can opener on a Sunday in Texas. The kitchen gadget section was roped off in the grocery stores on Sundays. Any tool = work = not on the Sabbath.
Talk about shocked! :-) |
Actually I'm on the west coast of Florida, just above Fort Myers, and I can buy any wine that I would like at Public BUT I cannot buy any vodka, rum, bourbon, etc., at Public. This can alway be purchased any day at Publix except for liquor sales that excludes hard liquor.
Have a great time on Sanibel!! |
You cannot buy any alcohol at grocery stores in Florida on ANY day, but you can buy beer or wine. There was a Sunday only-after-noon thing but I think that's gone now.
The county laws can be stricter but I don't think they are. Liquor Stores (ABC is big in FL) are open all hours, all days. |
