Mark -

You have chosen wisely. Kauai is the best of the Sandwich Isles. The Hyatt at Poipu is outstanding. It is one of the loveliest hotels you could have chosen. You will not be disappointed. While you are on the South Shore, have dinner at Casa di Amici - only a few minutes from where you are staying. Really wonderful food and relaxed, casual atmosphere. I would skip Roy's. Food is great, but atmosphere is horrendous. It is located in Kiahuna Shopping Center - no view and the tables are so close, you can hardly hear yourself think let alone talk, but just my opinion. You can do better.

Princeville is also a lovely area. Are you staying at the Princeville Hotel or at one of the condos in Princeville? The North is so different from the south. Get to Tunnel's for snorkeling. You should have made your helicopter reservation by now. There are only two people I would recommend on the island - first, Jack Harter and second, Will Squires. Stay away from the big companies. They shortchange you on your tour and their safety records are suspect. Jack and Will have impeccable records; give you the most for your money and will not take you if the weather is inclement. The others will. Do not hesitate to cancel if the day if not good. We have found that early afternoon is the better time to go before the clouds start to build late afternoon over Napali.

Do kayak the Hanalei River. It's peaceful and an enjoyable few hours. Try Zelos for dinner for casual, good food, fun atmosphere. The Bali Hai Restaurant has a remarkable view and some local Hawaiian entertainment in the Happy Talk lounge most nights.

Most of all, have a great time. What a wonderful way to start your lives together.
