Snorkeling and etc. at Poipu Beach
Farmer's market
Tuesday, March 1
Spouting Horn
Allerton Gardens
McBryde Gardens
Kipu Falls; Wailua Falls
Snorkeling at Lydgate State Park (If time permits)
Wednesday, March 2
Hindu Temple Tour
Farmer's Market
Thursday, March 3
Queen's Bath (If we have time)
Kee Beach
Limahuli Gardens
Kilauea Point Bird Sanctuary
Kauai Product Fair
Friday, March 4

Secret Beach; Queen's Bath (If not done on Thurs.)
Hoopi'i Falls Hike (Pg. 155, Blue Book)
Saturday, March 4
Last-minute snorkeling/swimming/shopping?
Depart for Chicago in early evening.
Yes, I know that Tues. and Thurs. are slammed! We'll do the best we can, and if we can't do it all on those days no big thing. (We're traveling with other people, who will be doing other random things on the days we appear to be doing not as much, and those two days are when we are doing most things together.)
Also, restaurant recomendations? Where do I HAVE to eat? What can I not miss? What stores do I have to go to for great local products (and where are they located)?

Beach House in Lawai
Brick Oven for Pizza
Shopping - there is a store called Kauai Products in the Kukui Grove Shopping Mall - it is excellent
Farmer's Markets are great but get there BEFORE they open!

Make sure you dress modestly for the Hindu tour (legs and arms covered.) It will be a wonderful visit, like going to Shangri-la.
If you like yoga and Hindus, you may like the ultra funky Caffe Coco in Wailua. It's very charming. Its hidden behind a parking lot sort of across from the Shell station in Wailua. (I hope its still in biz.)
When you are at Ke'e Beach, take the short hike up to the "hula platform" which legend has it is the birthpalce of hula. On the sand at Ke'e Beach look to the rocky outcropping on the left. Walk along the rocks, scramble around looking for some semblance of a beaten down trail, and eventually try to head uphill. There will be a few large boulders to climb over near the top. It should only take aboout 10 minutes. Eventually you will come to a grassy clearing next to towering rocks. Look into the rock crevices and you will see "offerings" to the goddess of hula. The view is great, this is a wonderful spot . (Not to be confused with the nearby Kalalau Trail.)

Don't forget to sunscreen lather every day
Don't step on coral when snorkling
Don't turn your back on the ocean
Do remain flexable with all plans.
Do toss all plans, when you simply love a beach or place. Stay and savor and relax and bottle it in your mind.
Do have a blast and report back!!
