Leather pants for special plane ride outfit problem

As some of you may know I will be whipping off to Aruba come January and I have carefully selected my special plane riding outfit which should be chosen with care and reverence and not worn until the big event even the tags should not be removed until one dresses for the all exciting event. I have some wonderful leather pants but upon prancing around the house I discovered they go SQUEAK SQUEAK! I simply cannot be jaunting around the airport with this or going up and down the aisle in the plane to the restroom making this sound. Is there any special gel or a way of walking that will prevent this? I am sure I am not the only person to encounter this embarassing problem am I? Please help! ***smooch***

That's great! :))

This is not fair! I can imagine all the walking advices will appear, and I'll be heading home in 30 minutes, and by the time I'll be back to work on Monday this thread may be gone.

Have you tried walking funny, keeping your legs far apart, like letter A?

Oil them.

Good great googlie mooglie...

Cut them off to short shorts and voila...no squeaks.

GoTravel Oct 29th, 2004 03:28 PM

muffin, if you wear leather pants on a plane ride to Aruba, you will have to wear them for the duration of your trip or cut them off you upon arrival.

The extreme heat and humidity of Aruba will make the pants stick to you and the altitude change will make your legs swell up.

Think about the scene on 'Freinds' when Ross wore the leather pants on the date and had the baby powder incident?

Somehow, I knew who started this thread before I even clicked on it....

If your thighs rub together enough to squeak when wearing leather pants, then you should not be wearing them. Hit the gym, sweetie.

LOL GoTravel...that's excatly what I thought of when I read this.

prancing around in leather pants...too funny muffin.

Now are they real leather or pleather?
Are they white? will you wear sneakers with them?
I like the oil idea. Are you sure they do not go crunch, crunch cruch when you walk??? Sqeaky pants will highly irritate the flight attendants and therefor take out all frustration on you and nearby passengers.
Perhaps you could wear themSunday and scare the bejesus out of all the trick or treaters!!!!!

Muffin squeaking in leather pants...

Just to think about it will make my weekend.

KT Oct 29th, 2004 03:50 PM

Muffin, since based on your other thread you apparently travel with a farting dog, won't the sound of the pants be drowned out by the sound of the dog?

suze Oct 29th, 2004 03:50 PM

Won't leather pants be just a tad warm when you get OFF the plane in a sunny and humid tropical destination? Wouldn't a short skirt and heels or sandals be more appropriate to the heat and humidity that will slam you the minute you disembark, down the stairs, onto the tarmac?

muffin, muffin, muffin....go naked, if that won't do, wear a robe but not the leather pants. I can recommend some people who you can talk to about your ehhh shall we say fetish!

I just read about this in the new issue of InStyle magazine. Which makes me wonder if muffin read it too thus giving her more fodder for her Fodor questions~
They are oiling the leather so much this year, to give it a good shine and softness, that the result is squeaking.
I will get out my magazine and see if there is a remedy.
OR, just don't wear them because that would be a RIDICULOUS outfit to wear to an island!

Jocelyn_P Oct 29th, 2004 04:15 PM

muffin, I assume you'll also be wearing lizard skin boots?

Scarlett Oct 29th, 2004 04:17 PM

Jocelyn, and little white fluffy mittens made from used hotel robes LOL

Marilyn Oct 29th, 2004 04:19 PM

muffin, darling, here you are again today! Life is just too bountiful!

I suggest a 6 hour horseback ride the day before you fly. I guarantee your leather pants will not rub together and squeak, because you will be walking bowlegged.

Unless, of course, you are an accomplished horsewoman who rides all the time. In that case, you will have to think of something else that you are not accustomed to that might have the same effect. **smooch smooch**
