Le Parker Meridien Hotel New York City
Yesterday, on citysearch.com, I read several very recent negative comments about the Le Parker Meridien Hotel in New York City. I was under the impression that the Le Parker Meridien is a luxury hotel with very nice rooms. Is this not the case? Would the Helmsley Park Lane be a nicer place to stay for two adults and three teens?

Stayed there last summer and loved it. The hotel is kind of stark contemporary - imagine a W Hotel en Francais - but rooms, amenities, service, location were great.

Today's New York Post has a rave review about their restaurant The Burger Joint.
|
Since the hotel is French are the burgers 'tartare'?
|
Reply to not: according to the article the answer is no. Sounds like a burger joint in an upscale hotel. Reads that the burgers are real tasty meat cooked to order and the tasty fries arrive in a brown paper bag alongside your burger. Vintage and current tunes supposedly complete the fun.

I would like to here more comments about these two hotels also!

I have not seen any recent comments on the Helmsley Park Lane Hotel! Which hotel is nicer?
|
Can anyone comment on this?
|
Cannot comment on the Helmsley but we enjoyed our stay at Le Parker Meridien a couple weeks ago. The staff was friendly and professional and the room quiet, clean and comfortable. Breakfast at Norma's was fantastic.
|
Some of the talk shows put their guests up at this hotel, so I would assume that it is pretty nice.

Hi:

My family stayed at the Parker Meridien 2 years ago. The rooms were fine but not luxurious. The only problem we had was in obtaining cabs. We had to wait 45 minutes and then hailed our own cab.

Can anyone comment on the French Restaurant at the Le Parker Meridien?
