Lay-over in Miami with an infant

Hi

My husband and I are travelling with our 9 month old daughter. We will have a 3 1/2 hour layover in Miami in the morning hours. Any ideas for a place to go, close to the airport for brunch with the baby? How much would a cab cost to leave the airport and travel to a restaurant?

Thanks!

I think it is too hectic to leave the airport for a 3 1/2 hour layover. YOu could go to the restaurant in the airport at the hotel for sit-down table service. Or pick up cuban pastries and cafe con leche from the Versaille or La Careta stands. For just about the price of cab fare, you could join the admirals club for a day. There you'll find comfortable chairs. They have a children's room, too.

Stay in the airport. We have also done layovers there, and MIA is VERY difficult to navigate. It may take you an hour just to find the terminal and gate for your connecting flight. There are plenty of places to eat in the airport, and keymom's suggestion of joining the Admiral's Club is excellent.

Thanks... I did think we were being a bit too ambitious :)

Perhaps not enough time to languish over a looong lunch, but certainly
enough time to go have some great
Cuban food closeby the airport.
Havana Harry's is great food and
perhaps 15-20 minutes away. It is not
expensive and it is an attractive
restaurant. If you have your connecting
boarding passes, 1 hour before at the airport should be ample time. I am an airline ticket agent so I am well aware of wait times at the checkpoints. Admiral's Club was a good suggestion, also, La Carreta at the airport has decent Cuban food not just pastries. It is cafeteria-style so you can "see" the food.
