I always thought that the cruise lines provided some sort of ground transportation like a shuttle bus from the airport to the dock, no?

You can take Supershuttle or Primetime shuttle for $15 from the airport to the port. Reservations are not needed. Both have websites if you want to check details.

Which cruise line?

princess cruise lines. that shuttle service seems inexpensive but i'm still curious about what a cab would cost...anyone?

thanks for all the info!

I called Yellow Cab to get a quote and they said about $44 + $2.00 surcharge which is charged to all cabs entering LAX and passed on to the passengers. Supershuttle, Prime Time etc. are your best best. They are dependable and reasonable.

J., if you make reservations for both the cruise and the flight through a travel agent or a cruiseline only then you get a transfer for a transportation from the airport to the boat. If you make your own flight reservations you're on your own.

Princess and most cruise lines will sell you transfers from the LAX airport to the ship.May I suggest you go to the CruiseForum and do a text search.Transfers are purchaseable regardless of who where and what you booked/purchased your cruise thru. The cruise lines make money off of "transfers".They will sell anybody anything they can make a buck off of.
