It kind of depends how long she is goin to be gone, but we recently went away for a week and used the Marriott Park & Fly which included staying at the hotel the night before. Was well worth it and our car was fine when we returned.

There are SO many options at LAX! Some are real close to the airport, some are farther away. Some are outdoors, some have indoor garages. Some have really good rates depending on how long you stay. There's quite a few that you can book online and they'll have coupons for a day free if you stay so many days. Some have AAA discounts. Plus, most of the hotels there have long term parking as well. Basically, the farther away you are from the airport, the cheaper it is. I BELIEVE the cheapest you might find today is around $6 - $7/day.

My son and I (from Carlsbad area) just flew out of LAX. We parked at Johnny Park which worked out so well. We highly recommend it. It was $8.00 per day and we made a reservation online. It was so much easier than parking in the airport lots. This is where we are parking from now on. Check it out online.

thanks for Johnny Park info - I forwarded on to her - I am more nervous about this than she is - we are meeting in Canada - she has never been to LAX before so hope she finds the parking area and there are not long lines to contend with.
