LAX int'l arrivals baggage assistance
 

I'm considering flying into LAX with 10 pieces of baggage and will be arriving in mid June at the int'l arrivals hall. When I last flew into and out of LAX, there wasn't a porter or skycap to be found and I cannot consider this option without help immediately at the baggage claim area before customs. Does anyone know how the airport is operating these days? I'm sure it's busier than when I left the country now that people are getting vaccinated. It's extremely expensive to ship luggage from Europe to the USA but if anyone has any other ideas, I'd be interested. I'm a woman traveling alone and cannot lift the luggage. Thanks

Why don't you call customer service at LAX OR inquire of an agent when making the reservations. I would inquire how much it would cost to ship.

You should contact customer service at LAX or make inquiries with the airline. That said, there should be personnel at baggage claim . . . they take off baggage and put it off to the side, and hold luggage in a separate space.

And how do you plan to transport all that luggage once you get out of customs and at the curb?

The two times I've brought that much stuff back from Europe were the two times I moved from Europe back to Los Angeles. And it was MUCH cheaper shipping all my stuff to LA than it would have been to drag it all on an airplane.

Thanks everyone and yes, I'm moving back from Turkey. The prices I'm seeing for shipping luggage are much higher than what the various airlines charge for extra bags. However, I think the convenience of having the bags shipped directly to my storage facility is going to outweigh the cost and hassle factor of trying to take them all with me.

Try FedEx. I once shipped a good-sized piece of furniture from India by air & it was surprisingly reasonable, delivered to my home.
