LAX: How far is it from terminal 2 to terminal 7?

I would like to make a connection in LAX from terminal 2 to terminal 7, arriving on Air Canada, and departing on UAL to HNL with one hour between flights. (Carry-on bags only?
Is it doable in one hour?

It is but I wouldn't risk it, if the first flight is late you're screwed, unless it is some sort of code-share flight between the two airlines.

Don't wait for the shuttle bus. If your bags are light, go outside the terminal, use the crosswalk, cross over to the restaurant/parking garage area and go straight over to Terminal 7. Pretty Long walk, maybe the equivalent of three long city blocks?

tracys2cents, thanks for the info. If we arrive on time, we'll give it a try and if we don't make it, we're booked on a later flight. If I can make the earlier one, it saves me a four hour layover in LAX.

Thanks

I hope you can make it (and I also agree don't wait for shuttle) but the one problem with LAX is all the terminals are separate and you have to go through the security checkpoint to get from one airline to another. That can be a real problem if there are lines. They are basically across from each other with parking ramps between them - too bad they don't have a connecting tunnel (or bridge) that connects you between the two areas. Some other airports do that and keep you from having to go thru seucrity again - it helps a lot on a quick connection. Good luck!!

tracey If you only have carry on then you should be ok but still very much pushing it. MAKE sure you ahve filled out ALL the proper paperwork on the plane so you go through customs quickly and easily.

You are trying to do a smart thing i think so best of luck

If you are not arriving on an international flight and have your UAL boarding passes in advance, you should be able to make it. But at LAX, it also depends on the day of the week (Monday and Friday are terrrible) and the time of your flight (during the busy commuter hours, the security lines can be quite long). Good luck.
