LAX Hotel Help - "Furball"??
 

In passing conversation a business customer of mine referred to an LAX-area hotel as the "Fur Ball"? Several others, apparently LA natives laughed as if they knew which hotel she was referring to. I'm scared now, can someone tell me which LAX-area hotel this refers to?

It is the Furama, on Lincoln.

That is a strange name, why do they call it that? Should I aviod?

I don't know, I have never stayed there. Looks fine enough from the outside? I think the nickname is more just a play on words of the real name and is not some kind of statement about it. Furball is not a widely used term for it, but I did happen to overhear someone myself who referred to it with that name.

Furama is the hotel management company of the Samta Group,a huge conglomerate based in Singapore.They have hotels in Singapore,Sydney,and China.The Samta Group has holdings in transportation and shipping.

Maybe it's not a hotel, it's a cat house?
