LAX Hotel at moderate price
 

Looking for a hotel near LAX for 2 nights<BR>in Oct. Must have free shuttle to airport.<BR>Max $85 US per night. Thanks

We were looking online at the Four Points by Sheraton at LAX. For this time of year, it's $66.00 per night. I'm not sure what it will be then, but you can just look up the hotel name on the Internet. Look under special rates. It's the same rate on expedia.com.

Check out the Furama Hotel or the Hacienda. Both are near LAX, have shuttles and are in your price range. I've stayed at both. There is also a Quality Inn on Century Blvd that charges about that I believe, as well as a couple of Travelodge's. The Furama has the advantage of being about 3 miles from the a/p itself and across the street from a park, less noisey if that is a concern. Again, all have shuttles.

I don't think it's as inexpensive as $85, but do look into Barnabey's Hotel. It has charm that is most unusual for a hotel near an airport, and they do have a shuttle.

dankat, we usually stay at the hacienda as suggested by a previous poster. It's not fancy, but it is clean and they have never made a mistake on our rservation. They have a 24 hour coffee shop which is very convenient and a shuttle to LAX. Best of all, if you stay just one night, your parking is free! Their parking lot is not underground, it's down the street, but a close walk. We have stayed several times and always been pleased.

We got the Westin LAX for $45 per night last year in October by using Priceline. Be sure to check out www.biddingfortravel.com if you decide to use Priceline.

I agree with the suggestion to use Priceline. There is an LAX zone, and all the hotels out there seem to have shuttles - even if the one you get doesn't, it will be so much cheaper than your other options that you can afford the cab ride.<BR><BR>I would have liked the Westin (Priceline 4* rating) but couldn't hit a bid the times I've been in LA. I did twice get the Four Points Sheraton (Priceline 3*) for about $40 per night, including taxes and the priceline fee.<BR><BR>www.biddingfortravel.com or maybe the other site a user here called hotel promotes (I can't remember its address) will give you a good guide to the hotels and prices which come up. As all the hotels in the LAX zone are much the same (certainly within Prieline ratings anyway) I would never get a room there another way.

She got the 3* Sheraton Gateway for $32.<BR><BR>As the above poster stated, no way to guaranteed a shuttle bus, but usually the savings is more than enough to make up for any taxi fare (although many of them DO have shuttles). If for some reason you insist on only using a hotel with a shuttle, you can also try Hotwire, which is also covered by BetterBidding.com<BR><BR>With Hotwire, they show you the amenities that the hotel offers, so by looking for a &quot;Shuttle Bus&quot; icon you can be assured that your hotel will offer a shuttle bus.

We've done LAX hotels a lot, sometimes planned, sometimes not (we often miss our last connection home to San Luis Obispo)! Since you are planning ahead you can search around at the major hotels for a good deal. They seem to cary quite a bit in their rates. We stayed at the Hilton and it was awful all around, service and room. We've had good experiences at the Renaissance, the Wyndham, and Embassy Suites South. I've never stayed at a hotel around LAX that doesn't have a free shuttle. Just make sure you find out the schedule. If you need to park a car, sometimes they offer a &quot;Park &amp; fly&quot; deal that could save you a lot on parking.
