LAX - Day Room

We are having a layover at LAX and I am hoping to get a confirmed hotel room with early check-in ( about 6-7am), and check out mid-afternoon. Does anybody have any tips on which hotel may offer this ( I have looked at various Hotel websites, of course they all encourage to book the night before & after....) We don't want to leave it until we arrive , as that has proven stressful in the past....( this will be at the end of our holiday, and we are NOT looking to go into LA or 'do stuff')

I've never had luck finding a hotel room that would confirm early check-in without paying for the previous night's stay as well...that's because generally check in times aren't until mid afternoon.

You might do better renting the room the night before you arrive and then ask if a hotel will allow you to pay an extra fee for a late check-out that afternoon.

So if you arrive on Sat early a.m., reserve the hotel room for Fri night and ask if you can pay a little extra to have a late check out on Sat. Just make sure they put a note on your account that even though you're renting your room for Fri night, you won't be arriving until early Sat a.m.

Many thanks- I think you are right, beanweb24, and need to book the night before.
Thank you for the hotel suggestion as well, clarkgriswold.

It can't be that in all LA there is no place to rent room by the hour!
:-p

Day rates are common near LAX, but if it's a busy night they can't be sure someone will check out by 6am so that you can check in at 7am. And they're usually not bookable online.
Sheraton Gateway, FourPointsLAX, TravelodgeLAX, Hacienda Hotel...they all advertise day rates on their websites, and lots of other hotels have them, usually, if you ask.

That link to the fourpoints that clarkgriswold cited had this on their site....Sounds like if you went there, you would not have to rent the night before....

I had booked the Four Points Sheraton for the day when I was en route to Australia a couple of years ago. (Unfortunately, my flights were totally messed up by a snowstorm at my departure airport, so I had to cancel the day room and ended up scrambing just to make my late night departure, so I can't tell my personal experiences.)

What you seek is definitely do-able, and a number of trans-pacific travelers I know have done it.

You are welcome! I thought you might not have seen it as it was listed in a sub-menu under the "services" section and required a bit of digging to find. But clarkgriswold is the true person to whom the thanks go :)
