Anyone know of a public laundromat near Herald Square in midtown Manhattan?

Spin City at 120 W. 31st (6th Avenue) might be the closest.

Manhattan Mall is between 33rd and 34th Streets on 6th Avenue. You are not likely to find one much closer than that. It is less than a five minute walk.

Most residential doormen buildings have large laundry rooms in their basements. A well placed tip to the doorman might get you a more convenient location.

Spin City sounds like it'll work for me. Anyone know of the hours they're open? I would suppose they'd be open until 10 p.m., maybe?

I live in NYC so I called the telephone number listed for Spin City to get hours of operation. Phone has been disconnected so they may be out of business.

topping this, but you're talking about a primarily non-residential area so it will be tough. Did you try using one of the online yellowpages like www.superpages.com (run by verizon, the phone company here)<BR>And woe to the doorman that lets a stranger in to do laundry--he or she would , rightly, be fired so quickly!!

xx: Thanks for calling Spin City for me. I have now checked the on line yellow pages (thanks nyer) and have found Empire State Laundromat on 30th between Park and Broadway. I think that's going to be my best shot. Hope they are open.<BR>

The Empire State Laundromat is on 30th between Fifth Ave and Madison. (I looked it up because between Broadway and Park encompasses several blocks.)
