Latest "In" Restaurant In New Orleans, LA

We will be in New Orleans this month and we were wondering what is the latest "in" restaurant. We have been there many times and know "the oldies but goodies".

Thanks.

Some of my favorites - Tommy's in the Warehouse District, Dick & Jenny's uptown on Tchoupitoulas. Also, check out www.NOLA.com.

I've heard a lot of good things about Jacquamo's - have you been there before? We met the wife of the mayor of Kenner (suburb of NO) in St John, USVI and she loves it. If you've been, let me know what you thought - we plan to try it next time we're in town.

I usually list Dick & Jenny's & Jacques-Imo's. I don't know how I missed it! Yes, it is a great restaurant, down-home-cookin' and a wonderful atmosphere - you walk through the kitchen to get to the seating area. Very New Orleans.

We had great meal at Stella in the FQ last month..that was the best meal of our trip..we also enjoyed our meals at NOLA and the Gumbo Shop, but Stella was the best. GW Finn's was a bit disappointing.
enjoy!

Some of the ones mentioned here aren't really "latest" or "in."

Le Petite Grocery, Meauxbar and Le Citron Bistro are all new and recommendable, although I've only had a burger at Le Citron.

How long has it been since you've been to NO? Have you tried GW Fins? Herbsaint?

I agree with Meauxbar it is a wonderful break from the rich and heavy food that you normally find in NO. Also, go to Petunia's for their Pain Perdu (their version of French Toast). It is unreal, I drool just thinking about it. I've heard that their other dishes are just as yummy, but I can't bring myself to order anything else!
