Late Breakfast in NY
 

Where can we have late breakfast in NY on regular days?(not weekend brunch)I am not talking about Starbucks breakfast,a regular pancake and waffle breakfast...
Also we will be in NY during the Thanksgiving and have no interest in watching the Thanksgiving parade,what else can we do?I have heard that shops at or around the SouthStreet Seaport might be open during the Thanksgiving day,can anyone confirm this?

I would doubt that any of the larger stores will be open on Thanksgiving, but most restaurants probably will be.

Lots of the tourist shops in and near Times Square will be open and I would think Wolman Rink and Rock Center will be open for skating.

Not many days of the year you can't shop in NYC, but Thanksgiving is one of them.

How about one of the movies coming out for the holidays? All the movie theaters will be open.

How about a walk through the village lots of restaurants and some of the shops there will probably be open during the day.

Also try Chinatown and Little Italy.

As for breakfast, ummmm lots of diners serve breakfast all day long, so you might try one of those. Don't know where you are staying but ask the hotel for suggestions nearby.

Wantsomesun is right. Any diner/coffee shop will serve eggs etc, all day. Norma's in Le Parker Meridien hotel is famous for their breakfast fare (large portions but prices to match).

The Xmas decorations in the dept stores should be up by Thanksgiving Day. Have a walk around & look before the hoards arrive. Saks, Bergdorf, Barneys & Lord & Taylor are usually the best. The Xmas show at Radio City is another option that day I think in addition to movies.

I recently did a post about a new favorite of mine -- Maison at the corner of 7th Avenue and 53rd. Wonderful omelettes, super Belgian waffles, complimentary beignets, and I had great duck confit hash with poached eggs. Someone else mentioned they serve it very late -- I think even as an alternative to lunch, but I can't swear by that personally.

Exactly 8 million diners serve breakfast all day long in Manhattan, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. No problem. Just ask someone for the nearest diner.

Too many to list. But all of these are very good choices.
As for Thanksgiving Day, you should probably stick around your hotel area and walk so you don't get caught up in the parade traffic. If you give us an idea of where you're staying, we can help you with ideas.

Walk a block (or two) east to Third & Second Avenues -- plenty of great dining options all around that very residential area.

For a great cocktail & appetizers, check out Bliss Bar & Lounge on East 49th Street near 2nd Ave. Many many dining options on 2nd.
