Last minute trip to Boston - advice!
We are making a last minute trip to Boston this weekend staying at the Hilton Back Bay. Any recommendations for things to do, places to eat, etc. We are going for a wedding so only have Saturday till about 3pm and then Sunday morning. Any advice for good brunch on Sunday nearby?
Thanks.
Thanks.

Hi Shelja,
I've always enjoyed the Sunday brunch at the Marriott right in the Copley Plaza.
Stroll Newbury street if it's a nice sunny day, you can go all the way down to the Public Gardens area, and maybe you'll have time to do a swan boat ride. Check out the shops at the Prudential/Copley if it rains. Thats about all you'll have time for. It's a nice area, have fun!

Our favorite places for Sunday brunch are Abe & Louie's on Boylston@ Fairfield (right around the corner from the Hilton, with brunch on Saturdays also), Stephanie's on Newbury @Exeter, and Aquitaine in the South End. All have websites with their menus.
If you've never been to Boston, a great way to see the city is a trolley tour or a Duck Tour. If you plan on a duck tour, be sure to book online or with your concierge as soon as you've checked in. The Duck Tour is great fun, but an advantage of the trolley tour is being able to hop off/hop on.

My favorite restaurant in the whole world is in Boston. It's the oldest restaurant in the US. It's called the Union Oyster House. If you love shellfish, it's the best. You can get a 5lb lobster. 2 1/2 is plenty for me.
It's also near Fanueil Hall and a bunch of other historic stuff. Take the Green line or Blue line of the T (subway) to the Government Center stop and follow all the people down the brick stairs (heading East).
There are tons of things to see in that area and you can do it all on foot.

That os a great location...We love going to Skipjacks at Claredon Street for their jazz brunch and their famous french toast.. It's across from the Trinity Church. The Duck Tour is a must and it's right behind the Prudential across from the Collanade Hotel. Sunday they are talking about rain, but if your having lunch/brunch on a patio be forwarned that there have been a serious rash of purse snatching. Be prepared for damp weather on Sunday, Saturday is going to be gorgeous.... so Dick says.lol If your looking for shopping there is a big TJ Maxx on Claredon and Boylston Street

Hello
Here is a list of the places I would recommend in Boston: Biking through the nine parks (Emerald necklace), Drinking at one of the bars in landsowne st, Haymarket and Quincy market (a must), and last (but not least) the aquarium (it¡¦s a really good one). About dining, I¡¦m on a strict diet so I wouldn¡¦t be the one to ask for ideasƒº . for more info on Boston and stuff to do around there you can try this travel plan site: http://www.tripcart.com/usa-regions/...de-Island.aspx (or just tripcart.com)
have a fun time

Each summer weekend there is the Feast of Saint somebody in the North End (last weekend in Aug is the big one - St. Anthony). This weekend is a medium sized one - saint of fisherman, details at northendboston.com This may or may not interest you and there may not be anything going on during your free time, but worth a look at the website.
This Saturday weather is supposed to be lovely. Walk along the Freedom Trail, stopping to look at authentic pushcart vendors at Haymarket (alongside Faneuil Hall/Quincy Market). A nice place to grab a late breakfast or something for lunch as well.

Thanks so much to you all for the quick response! We most likely will walk around Newbury St. and maybe try to grab some good seafood for lunch - maybe at Legal Seafood. On Sunday, we will maybe get brunch at the Marriott or Stephanie's. Thanks so much.

If you want to do a sports bar near Fenway do the Cask, Game On or the Baseball Tavern. Baseball Tavern just opened up in a new space and has a fabulous roof deck, I was just there last Fri night and it was a lot of fun.

We just love Legal, but even better would be Jasper White's Summer Shack right on Dalton, a few doors away from the Hilton. Huge menu of everything imaginable. The "wood grilled" or "pan roasted" (finished with butter, chives, Jack Daniels...) lobster are a truly unforgettable "experience".
Or the Famous Atlantic Fish Company on Boylston across from the Pru (ethereal Lobster Bisque...amazing breads...everything is absolutely outstanding).
The very best Legal these days is LTK (Legal Test Kitchens) on Northern Ave across from the Fish Pier. We were positively blown away (and by the food, not the slightly smaller portions, way lower prices) a few weeks ago ahead of a concert at the Bank of America Pavilion! This is a wonderful place to stroll with spectacular views of the skyline.
