Last minute spring break ideas

Hi -
I am looking for new spring break ideas. We are in the southeast and go to the Floriday panhandle/Gulf of Mexico beaches most years, where the weather is "iffy" this time of year. After being cold the last couple of years, last year we went to New York instead and had a great time. We haven't made plans for this year because we can't think of something new and different. Any great suggestions? We are in Georgia, would love to drive (saving money for two other upcoming vacations!) but are willing to fly, have two children ages 13 and 10 who are fairly well travelled and adventurous. We only want to do the beach thing if it is somewhere warm (south Florida), but we are open to non-beach ideas too. Does anyone out there have a suggestion?

The St Augustine area would be nice.

We just made reservations for a place in Melbourne Beach, Florida. I think that's far south enough to get warm weather. We will be driving from Georgia, also.

Ft. Lauderdale would be perfect.

The weather will be definite beach weather for you.

Also try Lauderdale-By-The-Sea and Hollywood Beach.

Thanks for the suggestions. I love St. Augustine, but I think it is still too far north to count on the weather really being warm. My question about Ft. Lauderdale is whether it will be filled with too many college spring break partiers. Not that I have anything against them, having been one myself at one time, but if I can find somewhere without that, I would prefer. Does anyone know much about Sanibel Island? I have always heard it is nice, but don't have a clue about places to stay, etc.

I would go to Montreal. It does not have beaches but it is a beautiful city. I think there would be plenty for your children to do.
ANother idea would be Chicago if your kids enjoyed New York. There is tons of stuff for them to do!

Ft.Lauderdale has gone too upscale for the spring breakers to really be able to afford the area.
