Last Minute October Trip with Babies
I'm looking to take a week-long vacation with 2 babies (23 months and 9 months) at the beginning of October. The toddler hates long car rides so we'd prefer to stay in one place or limit ourselves to short commutes.
It's been a stressful summer so we want something low key. Part of us leans toward renting a beach house somewhere, but we live in S. California and are looking for a new experience. Maybe something "fall-ish" since we really don't experience much in the way of seasons. My toddler is really fascinated with animals right now, so the ideal vacation might involve a cabin in the woods. They both do as well as can be expected on planes, but we'd like to minimize flight time and time spent in terminals. Both slept through a cross-country red eye to Hartford, but we don't want to press our luck Any suggestions or advice would be much appreciated. |
Lake Tahoe?
Northern California? The Olympic Peninsula of Washington? |
Idylwild or Big Bear, even Lake Arrowhead come to mind.

What about Mammoth Lakes? I spent almost every summer in Mammoth when I was a kid and loved it.
