Las Vegas was fun!

We just got back from Las Vegas. My husband and I took his 86-year-old father with us. All the new hotels are beautiful and amazing. Bellegio, Venetian, and Paris were particularly impressive. Bellegio looks very classy and exclusive. The fountain at night was just georgious! I loved bakeries inside Paris and restaurants and cafes in Venetian and Paris are fun just to look at them.

We stayed at Monte Carlo. I'd stay there again. This hotel is quieter and mellower than most other hotels.

We saw Mystere, which was incredible! This is a must in LV. It was sold out a few weeks and there was a long time for cancellation of the day. "O" was sold out even two months ago.

Food in Las Vegas was a little disappointing. Maybe we didn't go to right ones? Rio World Carnival buffet was not bad at $12.95. I liked its Brazilian stir fry a lot and all the desserts were very good.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Mystere and O are amazing and worth the trouble getting the tickets. Not cheap, but very impressive, imaginative shows and performances.

Hi Tomi
I'm an Aussie and my hubby and I visited Vegas several weeks ago on our honeymoon and had the best time. It's such an amazing place and there's certainly nothing like it over here. We stayed at Circus Circus, which is a fair bit away from all the popular casinos like the Bellagio and New York New York but it was cheaper and we had a car to get us around. I also loved the fountain show at the Bellagio, it was great. Also, Paris was excellent. I loved how they had the sky painted on the ceiling inside. We went on the New York New York rollercoaster at night which was pretty thrilling. It was the fastest and scariest rollercoaster I've been on.Anyway, enough rambling. I just wanted to say that I loved Vegas and can't wait to go back there one day.

i'm trying to book a trip over thanksgiving to vegas- i found some good deals on the lvrs website, but i'm trying to decide whether to stay at monte carlo or bellagio. i've heard that bellagio is really nice, but also that you hardly spend anytime in your hotel, so i'm not sure which way to go- it is $300 more for 2 people to stay at bellagio,over the course of 4 days-any thoughts???

If money is not a problem I would stay at the Bellagio. It is right in the center of the action and just a beautiful spot. Olive's is a wonderful restaurant there. The museum has wonderful art and we almost skipped it but went late around 10 and it was quiet in there and an experience I won't forget.

To Hana:
Monte I stayed at the Monte Carlo in Jan., and the room was O.K., nothing to wite home about no real closets small bathrooms. I had a nicer room in the Tower at the much older Tropicana. Try this weblink to Bellagio-http://www.bellagiolasvegas.com/winter/winter-promo.html
special Winter rates of $109/nt - several dates during Thanksgiving week available...an alternate is to change hotels; some people hate it, I don't mind on longer stays to enjoy a nicer hotel for a couple of nites;
if you plan to stay on 11/26, though, you better book NOW...seems like a VERY popular day(even worse than during COMDEX!); (I will be there)almost no availability and very expensive rates, even at the budget places!
